The Property
The house is one of 11 Architect designed houses built in 1990's as summer homes. Many are now owned by fulltime residents. A patio to the rear
has parking for two cars and the patio to the front is overlooking the river with garden furniture & bar-b-que. A large shared green area is a good place
for children to play. A private slipway is adjacent to the property. Small boats such as ribs and canoes may be used to travel down the Ilen River via
Oldcourt and onto Baltimore. A truly wonderful trip. A fence runs along the river side but children MUST be monitored. Swimming in the river is NOT
recommended.
Entrance hall leads into a large split level room. The living room has large couch and two arm chairs with T.V and has a large patio door and a dual
fuel stove is fitted for cool nights!! The Kitchen/Dining area is down 4 steps with another patio door leading to patio on riverside. The kitchen has
dishwasher, washing machine, dryer & microwave. A downstairs W.C. is off the entrance hall.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 : 5 ft Bed with built-in wardrobe with huge windows overlooking the river. Bedroom 2: 2 x Single
beds with built-in wardrobe with huge windows overlooking the green area. Bedroom 3: Bunk bed with storage press and a velux window. The
bathroom has w.c, handbasin & shower over bath.
The property is on the riverbank in quiet location, but yet, it is only 4 minutes walk to the centre of Skibbereen town. Skibbereen offers everything one
needs in the way of shops, restaurants, sports centre, childrens playgroung & public tennis courts, rugby pitch, soccer pitch, & G.A.A pitch. An 18
hole golf links is only 6 minute drive.
SKIBBEREEN TOWN
Skibbereen is the 'hub' of West Cork and it is an ideal base from which to discover the delight that the area has to offer. But Skibbereen - the town -
has more to offer. It is a 'real' town in the real sense of the word. With real people.
Thankfully, the advance of commercialism hasn't yet reached Skibbereen which means that the town still retains its local, colourful and friendly feel. In
Skibbereen you can relax and plan your diet of discovery of West Cork.
The perfect base for touring West Cork and into Kerry. Clonakilty, Rosscarbery, Glandore, Union Hall, Logh Ine, Baltimore & Cape Clear & Sherkin
Island, Ballydehob, Schull, are all within a 30 minute drive. The Beara peninsula into Kerry is only 1 hour away.
